Turning the Page

“You can think about it, you can wish about it, but in fly fishing, it ultimately comes down to the miles you roll, and the things you actually see and experience.” – Charlie Meyers

I rolled a lot of miles while I was with Icy Bay, and over those miles I saw and experienced some incredible things. I am incredibly grateful for all of the crazy adventures that I experienced while in Icy Bay, and I’m equally grateful for the time I spent with some absolutely amazing people. I leave with more business acumen than I arrived with, and enough photos and memories to last a life time. I can’t wait to apply the skills I acquired with Icy Bay in the next step of my life. If I had the pleasure to fish with you in Icy Bay, I want to say once again, Thank You.

I can assure you that even though my vocation is changing, my vacation is not. Here are some of my favorite pictures since my last blog post, on January 12th.

19 Degrees

IMG_0878

That was the temperature yesterday morning when I left my house to pick up a friend and go fishing. We dealt with ice on our fingertips and the guides of our rods all day, something we could have avoided if we switched to nymph fishing, which would have reduced the amount of line stripping required in contrast to fishing big streamers. Jerod had never caught a trout on a streamer, so we persisted.

I’m guessing he uses streamers a little more often now.
